Again, here's a product that requires an upfront and clear explanation...I do not manufacture this lotion from scratch. Oh, I tried making lotions, and was just not satisfied with the end result. Some were too oily, while others left a lot to be desired in how the skin felt after it was applied. Still others required repeated applications in a single day. That's not what I wanted to offer to friends and customers. It's not what I was willing to accept for myself, either.
So, again it was a matter of research and testing. Dozens of samples, dozens of volunteers trying out each configuration. Then I came upon this hemp oil lotion, and I was simply amazed. It moisturizes without greasiness. It slips into the skin quickly, but lasts incredibly. One customer has compared it to a "moisture shield" on her skin; a thin veil of protection from arid weather conditions where she lives.
Excited about this, I tried it on my husband's legs and feet. My husband has Parkinson's Disease, and skin problems are part of that. I am NOT making medical claims...but I am stating emphatically that his rough, dry skin surrendered quite nicely to this lotion. His calves and feet no longer look like something from a monster movie. (Sorry, husband)
One only has to look at the ingredients to see all the lovely and effective things that go into this lotion. The ingredients' list reads as follows.
Deionized Water, Hemp Seed Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Emulsifying Wax NF, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Shea Butter, Aloe Leaf Extract, Chamomile, Vitamin E, Japanese Green Tea Leaf Extract, Cetyl Alchol (Fatty Acid), Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol (Optiphen®) Fragrance.
You'll notice that Hemp Seed Oil is second only to Deionized water as an ingredient. Yes, it has a great many incredible ingredients, and yes...it has a preservative in it. Any product made with water must have a preservative, because water is a wonderful growth medium for bacteria and spores. Optiphen, the preservative, is quite body-friendly and does a beautiful job of preserving this amazing lotion. Take the time to look up any unfamiliar ingredients, and learn what they are and why they are present. But mostly, give this lotion a try.
I tell friends and customers, that when I lived in Las Vegas, my skin suffered and I was always trying out new lotions, body butters, anything to help. I spent hundreds of dollars on all brands and types of skin lotion, trying to get respite from the dryness. I suffered sticker-shock from some of them, too...I was willing to try anything, from old farm remedies to the priciest (that I could afford) luxury brands. I once spent a heart-stopping $90 on a single lotion...and it was nowhere near as good as this lotion is. It's what I give to my children, what they use on my grandchildren, what I use on my husband, and myself.
Now enough of that. This lotion is perfect just the way it is, but it can be customized with any of the lovely and body-friendly/body-safe fragrance oils we stock. Just a tiny amount of fragrance that makes lotion time a pure delight. We can also offer a bit of shimmer in our lotions, at no upcharge.
We started out with pretty glass jars, and quickly discovered that the beauty of the jars wasn't worth the risk of slippage and breakage, so all our lotions are now sold in pretty pearlescent 6 ounce bottles. A tiny bit disappointing, but safety first! So...should you try our lotion? Only if you've got skin you care about.
